U of A Listed Among 'Best Colleges' in Princeton Review 2015 College Guide

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas is listed in the 2015 edition of The Princeton Review’s annual college guide, The Best 379 Colleges. Only about 15 percent of America’s 2,500 four-year colleges and universities are profiled in the book.

This is the third Princeton Review publication this year to include a profile of the university. In January the U of A was rated among the top 75 public universities in The Best Value Colleges: The 150 Best-Buy Schools and What It Takes To Get In. In May the university made the list of The Princeton Review’s Guide to 332 Green Colleges: 2014 Edition. That guide was the result of a survey of more than 800 colleges and universities around the country.

The information about the schools listed in The Best 379 Colleges is a combination of comments from students, collected in surveys over the past three years, and information collected from or provided by the individual institution. Schools are not ranked, but each profile provides scores in eight categories: academics, admissions selectivity, financial aid, quality of life, “profs interesting,” “profs accessible,” fire safety, and “green.”

The Best 379 Colleges is primarily a consumer publication, aimed at providing information for students and their families to help determine which colleges will be the best for them. Sections on “Academics,” “Life” and the “Student Body” provide extensive student comments, while administrations gets their say in a section called “The School Says …”
