ASG Applications Now Available

Applications for Associated Student Government (ASG) Senate, Graduate Student Congress, and University Wide Committee Appointments will be available Aug. 25- Sept. 3. Applications can be submitted via http://asgforms.uark.edu. Students should log in with a valid uark.edu email address.

It's a great way to create meaningful relationships with students of various backgrounds and interests. If you are passionate about making positive change on campus, I encourage you to apply, ” said Ray Todd, ASG chair of Senate.

Available applications with associated deadlines are as follows:

Senate applications: Deadline noon on Sept. 3

Vacant seats in ASG Senate are filled with a fall at-large election. Students do not run by college of enrollment; instead, all students vote for all candidates that appear on one ballot. Applications are open to all University of Arkansas students who meet co-curricular requirements. Senate Vacancy Applications are due by noon on Wednesday, Sept. 3.

Any questions in regards to Senate duties should be sent to Chair of Senate Ray Todd at asgsen@uark.edu. Questions about the election and process should be sent to Chief Justice Ranger Guillory at asgjcj@uark.edu.

Graduate Student Congress applications: Deadline noon on Sept. 3

This will be the inaugural year of the ASG Graduate Student Congress. This new legislative body will represent and advocate for graduate students at the university. GSC will serve as the liaison between the U of A’s nearly 4,000 graduate students, which now constitute nearly 16 percent of the overall enrollment at the university. Graduate students will be able to voice their ideas about improving graduate-student education and well being to their GSC representatives. This election will fill vacant at-large seats within the GSC.

Fall 2014 ASG Senate and GSC Vacancy At-Large Elections will be conducted Sept. 9 – 11.  Unofficial election results will be emailed and posted on the ASG website by 10 p.m. on Sept. 11.

University-wide committee appointment applications: Deadline noon on Sept. 3

University Committees are open to all University of Arkansas students who meet co-curricular requirements. Committee appointments represent the student body on a variety of issues. Committee appointments are for one academic year and require various attendance, duties, and responsibilities.
