Colbert-Diaz Promoted to Assistant Director in Office of Equal Opportunity and Compliance

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – J’onnelle Colbert-Diaz, the grievance/personnel officer in the office of equal opportunity and compliance has been promoted to assistant director.

In this position, Colbert-Diaz is responsible for assisting the director/EEO Officer with monitoring the faculty, non-classified and classified staff recruitment process to ensure regulatory compliance. Colbert-Diaz also assists the university compliance officer with intake and research of compliance matters, including policy development and training. She will retain the function as the grievance officer.

 Colbert-Diaz joined the office in 2007, when it was known as the office of affirmative action. She served as administrative secretary before being promoted to grievance/personnel officer in 2008.

Colbert-Diaz has served as a staff representative on Campus Council since 2010 and was recently elected as chair for the 2014-2015 academic year. She has been a member of Staff Senate since 2008 and currently serves as the internal affairs chair. She also holds leadership positions in various organizations in the Northwest Arkansas community.

 She has a bachelor of arts in psychology from the University of Arkansas and a Professional in Human Resources certification from the Society of Human Resource Management.
