State Association Awards Top Honor to U of A STEM Educator

Vinson Carter, University of Arkansas assistant professor of STEM education, was recently named Engineering and Technology Educator of the Year by the Arkansas Association for Career and Technical Education.
Carter received the award this summer at the association’s conference in Hot Springs.
The award recognizes engineering and technology educators, other than full-time classroom and laboratory teachers, who have recently provided or currently are providing significant contributions to professional associations and career and technical education programs for youth or adults in engineering and technology education, communities and the state of Arkansas.
Recipients of this award must have made significant contributions toward innovative, unique and novel programs or improvement, promotion, research or development of programs of engineering and technology education.
Carter holds three degrees from the University of Arkansas, including a doctorate in curriculum and instruction. He joined the faculty of the College of Education and Health Professions in 2008.
