University Recreation is offering the ACE Personal Training Prep Course for anyone who is interested in becoming a personal trainer. It is a ten-week course that provides curriculum and material consisting of presentations, lectures, and interactive group activities to help prepare for the ACE Personal Trainer Certification Exam. The course includes the ACE 5th Edition Personal Trainer Manual.

The ACE Personal Training Prep Course has a high success rate of 100 percent of students passing the ACE Personal Trainer Certification Exam upon completion of the prep course.

“I felt like it really prepared me for the exam and not to mention I learned a lot of new information” said Adam Rose, University Recreation personal trainer. “Not only will you learn information about the human body and personal training itself, but you will also meet other students interested in fitness and personal training.”

The ACE prep course is open to students, UREC members, and non-members. It will be held from 3-5 p.m. Wednesdays, Sept. 17 through Nov. 19, in HPER 240. The cost is $200 for students, $250 for UREC members, and $300 for non-members.

To register for the ACE Personal Training Prep Course, visit the membership offices located in HPER 225, the UREC Fitness Center in the Arkansas Union or register online at urec.uark.edu through the member services link on the top rail. The prep course does not certify individuals as personal trainers or guarantee employment with UREC.
