FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – A record 16 research articles representing a wide array of majors comprise the recently released 2014 edition of Discovery, the undergraduate student research journal of the University of Arkansas Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences.
The journal is an annual publication in which students, under the guidance of faculty mentors, convert the results of their research into an article. Students who have received a Bumpers College Undergraduate Research Grant are expected to submit a paper based on their project.
Printed copies of Discovery are currently available in Bumpers College departmental offices or dowload an online PDF of the journal.
“The journal encourages students to engage beyond the classroom, offers an outlet to share results and findings in a citable publication, and provides a service to the college, the university, our friends and supporters, and society as a whole,” said Michael Vayda, dean of Bumpers College.
Mary Savin, professor of crop, soil, and environmental sciences, is faculty editor of Discovery. Gail Halleck, a publications editor in the Division of Agriculture Communication Services unit, is the journal’s managing editor.
Information about submitting manuscripts for the 2015 edition is at arkansasagnews.uark.edu/397.htm.
