Fulbright College Career Series

The Helping Professions Panel is open to all students who are considering a career in a health or counseling field. The panel is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, in Old Main’s Giffels Auditorium. The following will speak to students about their respective helping professions:

  • Laurie Pharis, DPT – physical therapist, Washington Regional Medical Center
  • Robert P. Tinnin, DDS – dentist, Fayetteville Family Dental
  • Amber Rickman, RDH – dental hygienist, Fayetteville Family Dental
  • Melissa Foster, OTR/L – occupational therapist, Children’s Therapy T.E.A.M
  • Julianne Koch, OD – optometrist, Little Rock Eye Clinic
  • Kristy Walker, PA-C – physician assistant, Ozark Dermatology Clinic
  • Todd Herriman, PharmD – pharmacist, Harp’s Food Stores
  • Michael Collie, LCSW – social worker, BSW program director (U.A.) and former Social Work clinical director of psychiatric hospitals.

Panelists will describe their own career paths, what they love about their professions, and current hot topics within their industries.  They will also be available to give tips to students who are applying to graduate or professional schools.  All students are welcome to come, listen, and ask questions.  

The Helping Professions Panel is a collaborative effort between the Fulbright College Career Series and the Fulbright Advising Center’s Pre-Professional Resource Office (Fulbright P.R.O.). These two programs work to connect Fulbright College students to career and graduate/professional school resources.
