The Registered Student Organization Advisor Development Series kicks off with “Advisor Basics” from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, in ARKU 308. Lunch will be provided.

Advisor Basics includes a review of the expectations and requirements of advisors and will briefly cover RSO policies. Resources available to RSO’s such as ASG funding and SOOIE (Student Organization Outreach and Involvement Experience) will also be discussed.

The Advisor Development Series helps Registered Student Organization advisors understand the role of the advisor and maximize their groups’ experiences. Each month’s workshop covers a different topic relating to the advisor’s role in RSO’s.

Dates for the remaining Advisor workshops will be:

  • Wednesday, Oct. 15 – Funding for RSO’s
  • Wednesday, Nov. 19 – Team Building and Motivation
  • Wednesday, Feb. 18 – Diversity in the RSO
  • Wednesday, March 18 – Professional Development
  • Wednesday, April 15 – Transitions

Please RSVP to any of these workshops by emailing Rainer Gall, RSO program coordinator, at gall@uark.edu confirming that you will be in attendance. All advisors are welcome to attend without an RSVP; however, we do ask you to RSVP if you plan to eat lunch.
