Walton College Remains Top 30 Public Business School in Latest Rankings

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas moved into the top 45 among public and private undergraduate business schools and remained ranked among the top 30 among public business schools in the latest survey by U.S. News & World Report.

Walton College’s peer assessment score in the "Best Colleges 2015" report – the measure the magazine uses to rank business schools – rose from 3.2 to 3.3, the highest it has been since 2010. The top peer assessment score possible is 5. The report ranked Walton College tied for 45th overall in the annual assessment, up from 47th the previous year and the highest overall ranking since 2011, and tied for 29th among public business schools.

"Our high levels of recognition among our peer business schools is due to our outstanding Walton College faculty, staff and students," Walton College Dean Eli Jones said. "Everyone at Walton continues to be committed to top-level research, teaching, service and outreach."

Every year since the 2004 report, the Walton College has ranked in the top 30 among public undergraduate business schools and in the top 50 business schools overall.

In the spring of 2014, the magazine surveyed deans and senior faculty at all undergraduate business programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Participants were asked to rate the quality of programs with which they were familiar on a scale of 1 (marginal) to 5 (distinguished); 38 percent of those surveyed responded. The undergraduate business rankings are based solely on this peer survey.
