Latino Alumni Society Will Present Excelencia Latina Awards During La Pachanga

The Latino Alumni Society of the Arkansas Alumni Association will present the Excelencia Latina Awards during its fourth annual La Pachanga at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10 at the Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House.

  • Lifetime Achievement Award – His Excellency Ricardo Martinelli BSBA’73, LHD’13, the 49th president of Panama from 2009-2014
  • Outstanding Corporation – Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Hispanic Latino Associate Resource Group
  • Individual Achievement Award – Greg Fess BSBA’80, MBA’82, senior vice president/director, Equity Broadcasting Corporation – Pinnacle Media
  • Academic Award of Excellence – Lemke Journalism Project, J. William Fulbright College of Arts & Sciences
  • Scholarship Recognition – Claudia Hanniel Chavez, Juventino Hernandez Rodriguez, Angela Chang Chiu and Kimberly Santillian
  • Outstanding Student – Juventino Hernandez Rodriguez

This event connects students, alumni, faculty, staff, friends and the Northwest Arkansas community while raising money for scholarships and celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month. A portion of the proceeds benefits the LAS scholarship fund.
