Mike Moore, EVP and president of small formats for Walmart U.S., will speak at Emerging Trends in Retailing conference on Oct. 8.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Senior executives from Walmart and Saatchi & Saatchi will convene to discuss retail trends, shopper emotions, millennial customers and consumer insights during the 14th annual Emerging Trends in Retailing conference hosted by the Center for Retailing Excellence at the Sam M. Walton College of Business on Oct. 8.

“Understanding how to connect emotionally with shoppers is critical, especially when more and more shopping is being done outside of the physical store, devoid of actual human interaction,” said Claudia Mobley, director of the Center for Retailing Excellence. “That is why we are so excited to have David Horsager, best-selling author of The Trust Edge, start our program, followed by Kevin Roberts, CEO worldwide of Saatchi & Saatchi and the founder of the ultimate emotional connection with shoppers, the Lovemark. Also, Mike Moore, EVP and president of small formats for Walmart U.S. and Stephen Quinn, EVP and chief marketing officer of Walmart U.S., will share some of the learnings from Walmart around understanding and connecting with their customers.”

This year’s conference will include a panel discussion of millennial shoppers, a generation which is starting families, shaping their careers and accumulating wealth. Matt Kistler, SVP, Global Consumer Insights & Analytics will lead the discussion. Kistler will be joined by executives from Saatchi & Saatchi X and Procter & Gamble.

The conference will be held at the Donald W. Reynolds Center for Enterprise Development on the University of Arkansas campus. Event seating is limited. To register, visit the Center for Retailing Excellence website at cre.uark.edu.

The Center for Retailing Excellence was established in the Walton College in 1998 with a portion of the $50 million endowment from the Walton Family Charitable Support Foundation. The center focuses on developing future leaders and serves as a bridge between academics and the retail industry.
