FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Winthrop Wetherbee III Avalon Foundation Professor in the Humanities, emeritus, from Cornell University will deliver a guest lecture entitled “Judging Dido” at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct.28, in J.B. Hunt Hall room 216. 

This lecture will explore Dante’s grappling with the theme of justice in the Commedia especially in terms of its apparent “suppression of Vergilian sympathy.” Professor Wetherbee's talk is sponsored by the Medieval and Renaissance Studies Program under the auspices of the Humanities Program of the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences. This lecture is free and open to the public.
