Everyday Heroes Live United Campaign Off to Strong Start
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Arkansas faculty and staff contributed more than $55,000 in the first week of the campus Everyday Heroes Live United campaign. This is a bit better than a third of the campaign goal of $150,000.
“The response has been tremendous,” said Debbie McLoud, campaign coordinator for the annual fundraiser. “People have donated both online, and through their Hero Cards, and the number of cards that have been turned in during this first week is much greater than expected. We are really grateful. It shows the extent that our faculty and staff are participating – either by donating money or by contributing their time and energy to helping the people in our community.”
Five names have been drawn from among the cards turned in so far, and the winners will each receive a $100 gift card. Their names will be announced at a later date. Three more drawings will be held in the coming weeks.
The Everyday Heroes Live United Campaign ends Oct. 31.
