Vanderbilt Researcher to Speak on Mathematics Teaching

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. --The Mathematical Sciences Colloquia Series hosts Ilana Horn of Vanderbilt University who will present “Growing Our Own Expertise: The Role of Colleagues in Improving Mathematics Instruction.”  The lecture will be at 3:30 p.m.Thursday, October 16 in Science Engineering room 301.

Horn will present a framework for interactive forms of teaching that support the development of students’ mathematical thinking as well as the challenges that arise in shifting instruction in that direction.

A reception for the speaker will take place at 3 p.m. in the Chemistry building, room 350.

The event is open to the public.
