University Recreation to Host TriggerPoint Foam Rolling Education Courses
University Recreation is offering two TriggerPoint Foam Rolling education courses on Saturday, Nov. 8, and Sunday, Nov. 9, in the HPER building. The courses being offered are TriggerPoint Level 1: Foam Rolling: Principles and Practices and TriggerPoint SMRT-CORE Training.
TriggerPoint Level 1: Foam Rolling: Principles and Practices will be offered on Saturday, Nov. 8, from 9 a.m.to 1 p.m. in HPER 216. The cost of the course is $150 for the university community and $120 for students. This course teaches participants the fundamentals of myofascia, reviews the latest self-myofascial release (SMR) research and the Trigger Point Performance movement philosophy using the GRID foam roller. This course requires a GRID foam roller. Participants may bring their own GRID foam roller or purchase one at the time of registration for $25.
“After completing this course, participants walk away with practical knowledge, hands-on experience, coaching and cueing movements that can be scaled to all-levels of general health and athletic clients for pre- and post-workout foam rolling,” said Jade Dworkin, graduate assistant for fitness wellness.
The second course, TriggerPoint SMRT-CORE, training will be offered on Sunday, Nov. 9, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in HPER 216. The cost of the course is $250 for the university community and $200 for students. Participants will learn how to take the benefits of traditional foam rolling to the next level by enhancing the effects of SMR and boosting performance through core strengthening This course also requires a GRID foam roller. Participants may bring their own GRID foam roller or purchase one at the time of registration for $25.
