Fourth Annual Thank a Donor Day the Biggest and Best Yet

This year, Homecoming at the University of Arkansas brought out students’ pride, spirit and an attitude of gratitude! More than 1,000 students flocked to the Union Mall on Oct. 22 to celebrate the fourth annual Thank a Donor Day at the U of A. Complete with a gigantic card, parade banner, selfie station, thank you note nook and appearance by the Razorback Band and Spirit Squads, there were a variety of fun ways for students to show their appreciation.

The Class Gift Council and Student Alumni Association teamed up to make this year’s event the biggest and best yet. As an official part of Homecoming, students could earn points for their teams by participating in the festivities and pick up a free pair of Keds while supplies lasted. Members of the Student Alumni Association could also claim their Calling All Hogs Home T-shirt.

The enthusiasm was contagious, and it was exciting to see so many students learn that thousands of alumni, friends, faculty, staff, parents — and even fellow students — give back each year to support their education and experience at the University of Arkansas.

For a recap of the event, check out this short video created especially for U of A donors by University Productions, a student-led multimedia group in the Division of Student Affairs. Members of the Class Gift Council and Student Alumni Association would like to thank the University Productions team and the Razorback Marching Band and Spirit Squads for helping to make the day so successful. Special thanks also go to the University of Arkansas Bookstore, Belle Boutique, Orange Leaf and Qdoba for generously donating prizes for the weeklong Philanthropy Photo Phrenzy leading up to the event, as well as to Keds for providing 500 pairs of highly sought-after shoes for students who came out to Thank a Donor Day.
