FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Alpha Chi Omega and University Programs host “Walk a mile in her Shoes” at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, on the University of Arkansas Union Mall.

This event is sponsored by University Programs through the Office of Student Activities and is supported by the Student Activities fee. For special accommodations due to disability, please contact the Office of Student Activities, osa@uark.edu or call 479-575-5255.

“Walk a mile in her shoes” invites everyone on campus and in the community to participate in the mile-long walk around campus. Before the walk starts, there will be a relay race where men wear heels and run through obstacles. Participation is $5 with student ID or children under 12 and $10 for the general public.

All proceeds benefit the Peace at Home Family Shelter and the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation. The Peace at Home Family Shelter is a local shelter here in the Northwest Arkansas area that works to end family violence and empower victims to thrive by encouraging their self-determination and courage. They also work hard to promote healthy relationships and communities through education, outreach, and advocacy. Formally established in 1978, the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation exists to support their mission of providing lifetime opportunities for friendship, leadership, learning and service for women of all ages by raising and distributing funds for charitable and educational grants. Come help give back to these worthy causes and walk a mile in her shoes to support domestic violence awareness.

This event is co-sponsored by Alpha Chi Omega and University Programs Cultures and Concepts Committee. For more information on this event, contact University Programs Cultures and Concepts Chair, Amber Hicks at upc3@uark.edu or 479-575-5255 or Chas Thompson at ct003@uark.edu.
