Designer, Educator, Artist to Lecture as McIlroy Family Visiting Professor

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Department of Theater in the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences will host “An Afternoon with Tim Saternow: A 21st Century Renaissance Man” Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 5:30 p.m. in the Stephen L. Anderson Center, Vol Walker Hall room 250.

Saternow, a theatre designer, educator, art director and fine artist, is at the University of Arkansas as a McIlroy Family Visiting Professor in the Visual and Performing Arts. His paintings and interviews have been published in several books and magazines.

Awards include an Artist's Residency at BoxoHOUSE in Joshua Tree, California, and an Emmy nomination for his art direction for The Piano Lesson on CBS, Hallmark Hall of Fame. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the State University of New York at Purchase, and Master of Fine Arts from Yale University.

The McIlroy Professorship supports the teaching and work of a professional artist who imparts highly specialized knowledge that is valuable to the community-at-large and essential to students’ artistic, educational and career enrichment. Each grantee of the McIlroy Professorship holds a joint appointment as a visiting professor of the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences and Walton Arts Center.
