Short Takes: 'Believing in Girls' Video Highlights Student Mentoring Effort in Arkansas Delta
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The idea of pursuing a college education is foreign to some growing up in the Arkansas Delta. Students at the University of Arkansas hope to change that by mentoring girls in the Marvell-Elaine school district in Phillips County.
Despite the issues some of these young women may face, the Dream B.I.G. (Believing in Girls) program is already helping its graduates, including U of A freshman Khyesha McCall. Hear her story and learn more about the effort in the Short Takes video, “Inspiring BIG Dreams.”
