Biology Graduate Student Association Hosts Al Savitzky April 16
The Biology Graduate Student Association invites students to hear our spring speaker, Al Savitzky, at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 16, in Science and Engineering 603.
Savitzky is a world-renowned herpetologist who has worked on a diverse array of taxa. He has authored textbooks and served as a National Science Foundation program director. He is currently the chair of the biology department at Utah State University.
Savitzky’s current work revolves around the Yamakagashi, Rhabdophis tigrinus, an Asian snake that sequesters the toxins from the toads it feeds on and expresses the toxin through nuchal glands on the back of the neck. Dr. Savitzky gives great talks, is an awesome guy to talk to, and has an amazing beard!
This event is supported by the Student Activities Fee as a funded event by the Associated Student Government and is free to all currently enrolled University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, students who pay the student activities fee.
