U of A Invites Parents to Meeting About Toilet Training Children With Autism
The special education program at the University of Arkansas will sponsor a town hall meeting March 26 on campus to provide information about toilet training to parents of children with autism.
The meeting will take place from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at 410 Arkansas Ave., Fayetteville. Graduate students in the special education program will provide child care but space is limited. RSVP to projconn@uark.edu or 479-575-3215.
Parents will have time to discuss the topic and ask questions following an information session conducted by Alison Karnes.
Karnes, a first-year doctoral student studying applied behavior analysis and autism spectrum disorders, works with the Arkansas Autism Partnership providing behavior analytic treatment for young children with autism.
Karnes researches the effects of using iPad technology for improving language development in people with autism spectrum disorders and other communication disorders.
