Kansas State University Students to Present Work at sUgAR in March

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The sUgAR Gallery will present artwork by the Kansas State University graduate and post-baccalaureate students that displays their own development of research while studying within the Kansas Sate program.

Participating in a vigorous curriculum, the Kansas State students will display ways in which they are challenged to master technical skills and communicate conceptual ideas.

This work is the second stage of an exhibition exchange between the ceramics students at the University of Arkansas and those at Kansas State University, established with aspirations to enrich professional skills, exhibition opportunities, and community growth. The artwork will be on display from March 5-19, with the opening reception to be held from 6-8 p.m. on on March 5. 

Additionally, a selection of artists will present talks about their work at the University of Arkansas Ceramics Building at 2:30 p.m. on March 6. The gallery located at 1 E. Center Street in downtown Fayetteville.

Participating students from Kansas State University include Eric Charlton, Abigail Kern, Sarah Mcnutt, Thea Meussling, Chris Rodgers, Heidi Schaaf, Kolle Kahle-Riggs and Nick Vest.

The sUgAR gallery is an interdepartmental exhibition space featuring the visual research of students, faculty, and visiting lecturers from the Department of Art and Fay Jones School of Architecture representing the departments of architecture, landscape architecture and interior design. sUgAR is made possible by the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences, the Department of Art, the Fay Jones School of Architecture and the University of Arkansas’ Facilities Management.
