Phased Rollout of New Campus DNS Servers Starting March 8

IT Services will begin the first phase of rolling out two high-availability DNS clusters during planned maintenance scheduled from 10 to 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 8.

The DNS cluster rollout provides the campus network with high performance hardware, increases redundancy, protects against potential outages and improves network security.

Buildings included in phase one are Ozark Hall, Science Engineering Building, One East Center, Old Main, Bell Engineering Center, Engineering Hall and Mechanical Engineering Building.

During the rollout, most students, faculty and staff will notice no change to the way they connect their devices to the campus network.

Advanced users who do not use DHCP to get IP addresses will be required to manually change their primary and secondary DNS servers. The preferred campus DNS servers are available at https://techarticles.uark.edu/network/dns_servers.
