Candidate for College of Education and Health Professions Dean to Visit Campus

Jacqueline Edmondson, associate vice president and associate dean for undergraduate education at Pennsylvania State University, will visit the University of Arkansas campus this week to speak with faculty, staff and students as a candidate for the position of dean of the College of Education and Health Professions.

Edmondson will give a public presentation from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, in the Graduate Education Building auditorium (Room 166). She will speak on the topic "Vision for the College of Education and Health Professions at the University of Arkansas" during the open forum.

Tom Smith, who has been dean of the college since 2010, will return to the special education faculty this fall. He holds the rank of University Professor of special education and served one year as interim dean before being appointed to the position.

Michael McLendon of Southern Methodist University visited campus last week, and Thomas Koballa of Georgia Southern University, a third candidate for the dean's post, will be on campus March 16 and 17.
