Poet Dave Smith
The University of Arkansas Program in Creative Writing and Translation is proud to host acclaimed poet Dave Smith as the spring 2015 Walton Visiting Writer in Poetry. Smith will read from his work at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 19, in the the Hunt Center for Academic Excellence, room 144. This reading is free and all are welcome to attend.
A poet, novelist, critic, and editor, Smith is the author of more than 20 books, including Hawks on Wires: Poems, 2005-2010 and Hunting Men: Reflections on a Life in American Poetry. Twice a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and recipient of awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Guggenheim Foundation, and the Rockefeller Foundation, Smith currently teaches in the M.F.A. program at the University of Mississippi.
