Epidemiologist to Discuss Global Community Health Programs in Talk Friday

Kathryn Jacobsen, an epidemiologist and associate professor at George Mason University, will give a talk at 3 p.m. Friday, March 20 on the University of Arkansas campus titled "Mission Possible: Helping Global Community Health Programs Succeed."
Jacobsen is a special guest of the Department of Health, Human Performance and Recreation and will be the featured speaker at this week's Research Seminar Series. The seminars take place in Room 316 of the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Building. They are free and open to the public.
Jacobsen's research focuses on health transitions epidemiology, the study of the shifts in population disease burden that occur in conjunction with socioeconomic development and globalization. She is an internationally recognized expert on the global epidemiology of hepatitis A virus and conducts field research at several international study sites.
