Nothing is sweeter than the feeling of giving back—but cupcakes are nice, too!

That's why volunteers will soon be delivering mini red velvet cupcakes to 33 departments across campus that have already reached or exceeded 50 percent participation in the fifth annual Red, White & True faculty and staff giving effort. It's our way of saying thanks and recognizing groups who are leading the way in giving back through donations to the U of A and membership in the Arkansas Alumni Association.

To date, 1,365 current and retired employees have participated in this year's campaign, for an overall participation rate of 27 percent. Thank you!  It's inspiring to see so many staff and faculty giving of their financial resources in addition to the time, energy and enthusiasm they already give each day to make the University of Arkansas the best it can be.

Haven't participated yet? The deadline is quickly approaching, but there's still time!  Please make your contribution by April 24 to be included in this year's extra special celebration event. You can give or join online or download a participation packet for additional options, including payroll deduction. Remember, you can choose to support any college, department, scholarship or campus program that's meaningful to you, and a contribution of any size will help boost your unit's participation rate.

There's also still time to show your pride and win prizes in the Selfless Selfie spirit contest. You could relax with a free massage donated by University Recreation or cheer from the Chancellor's skybox during the spring Red-White game—just by posting a picture.

Questions? The Red, White & True volunteer team is here to help. You can also check your participation status by contacting the program's staff liaison, Merin Macechko, at 575-2944 or merin@uark.edu.
