A University of Arkansas assistant professor of community health promotion will speak April 17 on campus about her research into "Predicting Women's Sexual Satisfaction: Is it all About Getting What you Want?"

Heather Blunt, who joined the faculty of the College of Education and Health Professions last August, co-directs the Sexual Health Research Lab in the college. Her talk will take place from 3 to 4 p.m. Friday, April 17 in Room 316 of the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Building.

The talk is part of the Department of Health, Human Performance and Recreation Research Seminar Series. The purpose of the series is to expose students and faculty to research being conducted in the department. It is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

Blunt earned her master's degree in public health and doctorate from the University of South Florida's College of Public Health after earning a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Waterloo's co-op program. Her research focuses on the influence of communication on development of sexual feelings about oneself, sexual agency, and sexual health outcomes including pleasure, and sexual and relationship satisfaction.

Blunt currently serves as a governing councilor for the Population, Reproductive, and Sexual Health section for the American Public Health Association.
