Razorback Sports Network Named Finalist for Multiple Sports Media Awards

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Razorback Sports Network, a division of the University of Arkansas Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, has been named a finalist for two awards presented by the Sports Video Group and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics at the upcoming 2015 SVG/NACDA College Sports Media Awards.

Winners will be selected by a panel of judges and announced at the College Sports Media Awards ceremony on May 28 at the SVG College Sports Summit at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center in Atlanta. The event will be hosted by FOX Sports' Joel Klatt.

Representing a variety of college athletic and academic departments, as well as professional networks, production companies, and student productions, the finalists are spread across four divisions in a total of 20 categories.

"We are pleased that the tremendous work being done by the Razorback Sports Network has been recognized nationally," said Jeff Long, vice chancellor and director of athletics. "In the past year, we have transformed the way all 19 of our sports are being delivered to a worldwide audience both on traditional television and on various digital platforms. From live event production to original programming, Michelle Glover and her RSN team have helped bring extraordinary exposure to our program and the University of Arkansas."

RSN is a finalist for outstanding live production of a collegiate athletics event for its SEC Network-plus production of an Arkansas vs. LSU baseball game on Saturday, March 21. In the first year of its partnership with the SEC Network, RSN broadcasted nearly 90 events on SEC Network-plus with an additional 11 broadcasts produced for linear networks (SEC Network and ESPNU).

RSN was also named a finalist for an award in the category of outstanding live studio/remote hosted programming for its 2015 National Football Signing Day show. The two-hour program was broadcast live from the Fred W. Smith Football Center by hosts Chuck Barrett and former Razorback quarterback Quinn Grovey. The show combined live interviews with Arkansas head football coach Bret Bielema and his coaching staff, early enrollees and Skype interviews with football letter of intent signees.
