U of A Hosting ACT Academy for Local High School Students

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Rising juniors and seniors who are part of the University of Arkansas Educational Talent Search program will attend an all-day ACT Academy on campus Thursday, June 11.

Students will receive personalized instruction on the structure of the test, learn common types of questions, review helpful formulas and rules, participate in drills, and review practical strategies for maximizing their scores.

Educational Talent Search is a federally-funded “TRIO” program within the U of A Office of Diversity Affairs. The program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education and provides a full spectrum of services to students from disadvantaged backgrounds that have the potential to succeed in higher education. 

The University of Arkansas has three Talent Search grants which serve 40 target schools. The college attendance rate most recently reported for the U of A Talent Search programs is 87 percent.
