The Razorback Collegiate Recovery Community seeks faculty and staff allies.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Substance Education and Alcohol Resources office is expanding the Razorback Collegiate Recovery Community to better serve our students. The mission of the organization is to provide an environment of support and education to the University of Arkansas community while fostering an alliance that exhibits harmony, unity and well-being through integrity and accountability. This will be carried out through providing on-campus meetings, as well as substance-free activities and events both on and off-campus.

Much like the way Safe Zone Allies created a culture where LGBTQ students could know where and to whom they could go for support, the Razorback Collegiate Recovery Community is seeking to establish this same system for students, faculty and staff who are in recovery from alcohol and/or substance abuse addictions.

At this time the group is seeking faculty and staff who are interested in being involved with the Razorback Collegiate Recovery Community as an ally, to help with on-campus meetings and with the organization of events and programming. You do not have to be in recovery to be a part of this alliance; the goal is to establish a support network going into the 2015 fall semester. If you are interested, please contact Deb Morgan at drmorgan@uark.edu for more information.
