Campus Network Upgrades to Improve Wireless Service
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- IT Services will upgrade the wireless network in early August to increase Wi-Fi speeds and reduce the likelihood of outages.
Available bandwidth will increase from 2Gb/s to 20 Gb/s, making it possible for more users to connect at faster speeds, even during peak use time. New equipment is also being installed to reduce the likelihood of outages for users campuswide and prepare for future expansion of Wi-Fi coverage.
IT Services will implement the upgrade over the next two weeks during regular network maintenance periods. The upgrade will not affect how students, faculty and staff connect to campus Internet or access online services.
