Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity Recruiting New Members
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. —Phi Iota Alpha, the oldest Latino fraternity, was founded in 1931 and has been on the U of A campus since 2007. The chapter is recruiting interested members this fall and holding an informational on at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10 in room 516 of the Arkansas Student Union.
Phi Iota Alpha will hold a FIFA Video Game tournament with University Programs at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9 in the Student Union Tech Center. Everyone is invited to join in.
The fraternity promotes higher education, with the main mission of creating more than a brotherhood, but a familia with a life-long bond and everlasting memories.
Members of Phi Iota Alpha make every effort to help the community through volunteering, philanthropy, and work to achieve academic excellence. Members have been involved with Adopt-a-Highway and Adopt-a-Park to help make the community a cleaner place. Every year the fraternity holds fundraising events for the Water Tap Project with UNICEF to provide clean water for children around the world. The focus on higher education which helped the students in Phi Iota Alpha attain the highest GPA of all Greek Life organizations on campus in Fall 2014 and win an Academic Excellence award.
