'Home-Going' Celebration Tonight to Remember Greig Roberts

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Greig Roberts, who taught biology to about a thousand University of Arkansas students every semester, passed away Monday, Sept. 14.
Dr. Roberts – he was also a dentist, and a doctor of pharmacy – earned an award as the Order of Omega Outstanding faculty member from U of A Greek Organizations in 2008 and the 2010 UARK Master Teacher Award from the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences during his nine years as an instructor, and was the first speaker for The Mortar Board’s “Last Lecture” series.
Roberts was born April 2, 1953, in Mena, Ark., to Theron and Mary Ellen Roberts. He is survived by his wife Vivian, daughter Oakleigh, the Philpot family, and a myriad of friends and family.
In addition to his academic accomplishments, he was an award winning musician, performing most notably as Mo Brothers and leader of The Decoys.
A heavenly home-going celebration will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18 at the Fayetteville Town Center. At his request everyone attending is encouraged to wear bright colors to reflect this glorious gathering and celebrate his life.
The family asks that there be no carnations due to an allergy; contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or Berachah Church, 2815 Sage Road, Houston, Texas, 77056.
