FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The campus and local communities are invited to the dedication and ribbon cutting for the Jim and Joyce Faulkner Performing Arts Center. The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18 outside the building on Garland Avenue.

The Faulkner Center is housed in the fully renovated and remodeled Field House building. The state-of-the-art performance center will host as many as 200 events a year, primarily by ensembles and vocal groups from the U of A Department of Music. The auditorium seats about 600 people and the stage will accommodate as many as 250 performers.

The center is named for Jim and Joyce Faulkner, whose initial $6 million dollar donation in 2012 provided the impetus to make the project a reality.

A free public concert by students, faculty and groups from the music department will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, Tickets may be reserved by sending an email to faulkner@uark.edu with your name and the number in your party. The performance is free to the public. Tickets will be available on a first come, first served basis.
