Integrity Awareness Week: Libraries' Presentations
The following Integrity Week presentations at University Libraries are slated for this week.
Tuesday, Sept. 22
- Citing Sources for the Graduate Student Author (Necia Parker-Gibson) – 10-11 a.m. (MULN 102) – The sources you cite, and their quality, help integrate your work into the larger academic conversation. Let's talk about it.
- Copyright for the Graduate Student Author (Patricia Kirkwood) – 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (BELL Upchurch) – As a graduate student, you will be writing journal articles, conference publications, and your thesis or dissertation. Do you know what rights you have to your writing? This session will provide basic explanation of the US copyright laws. Resources to request permissions for reuse will be made available. Open source publishing options will be discussed.
- Citing Sources and Avoiding Plagiarism for Undergraduates (Sarah Spiegel and Norma Johnson) – 3-4 p.m. (MULN 104) – Guidelines for citing sources and avoiding plagiarism for the undergraduate scholar will be provided. Some basic guidelines for using library tools in citing and how they help with avoiding plagiarism.
- No Excuses: Library Tools to Help You Cite Your Sources (Beth Juhl) – 4-5 p.m. (MULN 102) – Library Tools to help you cite while you write. Audience: undergraduates and beginning researchers.

Spring Bike Drive Refurbishes Old Bikes for New Students
All donated bikes will be given to Pedal It Forward, a local nonprofit that will refurbish your bike and return it to the U of A campus to be gifted to a student in need. Hundreds of students have already benefited.
