ROGERS, Ark. — The University of Arkansas Global Campus in Rogers now offers an on-demand online class to help licensed real estate agents meet the yearly continuing education requirements set by the state.

Real Estate Finance Revisited” is a six-hour, self-paced online class that meets the yearly continuing education requirements for licensing set by the Arkansas Real Estate Commission. Participants complete class requirements at their own tempo from locations of their choice.

Registration is available online. The cost is $60, but U of A faculty, staff and Alumni Association members pay $55.

“We are excited to offer our first Arkansas Real Estate Commission-approved online continuing education course to Arkansas real estate agents,” said Heather Sprandel, an affiliate of the Global Campus. “This course is affordable, and it’s flexible enough to fit into the demanding schedules of working real estate agents.”

The real estate finance course topics are designed to benefit both newly licensed agents and seasoned veterans. They include:

  • A brief history of the mortgage industry and recent changes
  • Mortgage options available today
  • The new settlement and consumption procedures established by the Truth in Lending Act and the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act
  • The 1031 tax-deferred exchanges
  • A resource guide to further reading for real estate professional and education resources for clients

The Global Campus collaborated with Louise Lackey, a local real estate broker, to develop and deliver the online course. Lackey is an active licensee with Keller Williams Market Pro Realty in Fayetteville. Lackey has more than 20 years of experience in real estate and has served as a director on the former Springdale Board of Realtors.

Sprandel develops professional development programs for the Global Campus and serves as an adjunct instructor at the Sam M. Walton College of Business.
