FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Arthritis Foundation, in partnership with the University of Arkansas chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi, will host the first Juvenile Arthritis Family Day in Northwest Arkansas on Saturday, Oct. 3. The event will run from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Alpha Omicron Pi house and will feature special guest Shauna Estes-Taylor, the University of Arkansas women's golf coach.

Juvenile Arthritis Family Day is an Arthritis Foundation sponsored program offered to families with a child diagnosed with juvenile arthritis. Families will have the opportunity to meet other families who face similar challenges in a relaxed, non-clinical setting. Children and teens will enjoy activities and games while parents participate in educational sessions facilitated by health professionals.

Educational session speakers include: Sukesh Sukumaran, pediatric rheumatologist with Arkansas Children's Hospital Specialty Clinics; Amy Seay, pediatric psychologist, with UAMS Schmieding Development Center; and Lauryn Brannon, a registered dietician.

University of Arkansas women's golf coach, Shauna Estes-Taylor, will share her story of hope in living with rheumatoid arthritis. Coach Taylor and golf team members will teach putting techniques to children and teens.
