Arkansas Union Reopens After Extended Closure

The Arkansas Union opened Monday at 6 a.m. after an extended closure for needed electrical repairs.

Construction crews replaced the main electrical switchgear that helps provide power to the entire building, and also replaced old electrical panels from the original construction of the Union. The work started on Dec. 19.

"We are happy to report that the work is completed and things went off without a hitch," said Rob Stagni, director of the Arkansas Union.

All departments and offices displaced by the closure are back in their regular spaces and conducting business. Classes for the spring semester start on Jan. 19.
