Snow and Ice are in the Forecast - Will You Get Inclement Weather Alerts?

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Snow and ice are in the weather forecast this week, and U of A operations could be affected.

When U of A administrators decide that road conditions to and from campus are dangerous they will send out Inclement Weather messages to announce:

• classes are cancelled and most university operations are closed OR
• there is a delayed opening

The Inclement Weather messages are sent by text, email and phone.

But you have to sign up to get them.

It’s easy to do through the UAConnect system for students, or webBASIS for faculty and staff.

• Students go to the “Personal Information” section and choose “Campus Alert Systems” to opt in or update their contact information.
• Faculty and staff go to “My Personal Data” and “Addresses, etc.” to opt in for inclement weather messages

Inclement Weather messages are also posted on the U of A’s homepage, Facebook page and Twitter account. Information is also available on the U of A Weather Hotline at 575-7000.

When hazardous weather conditions develop during the day and U of A administrators decide to cancel classes and close operations early, the message is sent out through RazALERT to everyone in the campus system. No sign up is necessary, but it is a good idea to make sure your contact information is current.
