Ladies' Night Out and Guys on Fitness

University Recreation invites the campus community to participate in Ladies’ Night Out and Guys on Fitness from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, in the HPER Building.

During this two-hour event, the Donna Axum Fitness center will be open to women only. Trainers will be available to demonstrate how to incorporate weights into a workout routine. Additionally, the climbing wall will be open for women to learn how to climb, improve technique and slackline. The group fitness classes in the HPER and bouldering wall will be open to men only. Group fitness instructors will run class demos every 30 minutes.

“With the positive feedback from the participants last year, we decided to expand the event and open it up to other program areas of UREC,” said Kristin DeAngelo, senior director of facilities operations.

Participants will also be able to attend a Health Expo with many campus and community representatives available to distribute information, answer questions, and discuss the various health and wellness opportunities available on and around campus. The night will also include food, music, free chair massages and an opportunity to win raffle items.

“We are excited to create a comfortable environment for our participants to experience a variety of our programs at University Recreation during the event,” said Mike Hoover, assistant director for UREC Outdoors.
