Teaching Team Travel Grants

The Teaching and Faculty Support Center is accepting proposals for travel grants from interdisciplinary teams of 2-3 faculty to attend a teaching conference in 2016. Grants of up to $2,000 for each team member are available.

Team members will be expected to implement and disseminate their knowledge at the University of Arkansas in order to improve teaching on campus. Proposals should include a suggested travel budget. Preference will be given to teams that include faculty diversity and/or a mentoring component. Examples of faculty diversity include having faculty with different levels of teaching experience and may also include faculty who teach using different pedagogical approaches. Travel must be completed before Dec. 31, 2016.

Team travel grant proposals should focus on:

  • What the team members would like to learn by attending a conference: What are some big picture questions that can be addressed by attending the conference?
  • How team members will use the knowledge and skills attained to promote teaching and learning at the University of Arkansas. Provide details about team members' plans to develop a program that can be used to share knowledge with the greater University of Arkansas community following conference attendance.

Example of conferences include:

Submission process: Submit a one page pdf file to tfsc@uark.edu by Feb. 15. Submissions will be reviewed and decisions made by no later than March 1.

Dissemination: Awardees must submit a written summary of the knowledge gained along with a description of how they propose to share this knowledge with the University of Arkansas community within four weeks of meeting attendance.
