Reigning Champ Keeps Crown at Denny Racquetball Tournament for Third Year

University of Arkansas employee Pawel Wolinski won first place in the gold division of the George Denny Memorial Racquetball Tournament for the third year in a row on Feb. 27 at the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Building.

The annual tournament raises money for the George S. Denny Memorial Scholarship Fund established to honor Denny, who died in 2013. A professor of educational statistics and research methods, Denny was also an avid racquetball player and played with several of his fellow professors and students.

Denny joined the faculty of the College of Education and Health Professions in 1991. He published numerous research papers over the years and won many awards for his work. He won the STAR award in May 2013 for outstanding all-around faculty member in the College of Education and Health Professions.

Competitors in the silver division: Brian Rickard; Charles Denny, third; Randy Bowling, first; Thomas (TW) Langevin; Gary Ritter, second; William Lachowsky.

Competitors in the bronze division: Beth Sude; Greg Phillips, second; Albert Cheng, first; Sivan Tuchman, third.
