Better Wi-Fi in Academic Buildings Coming Soon
The University of Arkansas is getting a major upgrade this year with faster and more reliable wireless Internet across campus. Improving wireless access is a top priority in the Achieve IT: Excellence in Technology initiative.
Network Everywhere, one of the first Achieve IT projects, is making it easier for students, faculty and staff to stay connected as they move from building to building. During the first phase of the project, 970 new wireless access points are being installed in more than 30 academic buildings to create greater coverage and capacity. The first phase is expected to be completed by the start of the 2016 fall semester.
The project will eventually expand wireless access in all buildings on campus and provide better ways for campus users to get and stay online from any mobile device.
