Twenty-Two Initiated Into New Supply Chain Honor Society

The Department of Supply Chain Management at the Sam M. Walton College of Business recently announced 22 initiates to a new Supply Chain Management Honor Society founded at the University of Arkansas. 

Membership is extended to supply chain management juniors, seniors and graduate students as well as educators and professionals who have shown dedication and contributions to the supply chain management profession. Sigma Chi Mu Tau exists to recognize academic merit and to encourage leadership, ethical behaviors and commitment to high standards in the pursuit of supply chain management excellence. 

Sigma Chi Mu Tau believes that academic excellence should be a priority for every supply chain management major and was created to remind students of the importance of scholastic achievement. Membership is open to students majoring in supply chain management who must have an overall cumulative grade point average of at least a 3.25 on a 4.00 scale.

  • Juniors ranking in the top 10 percent of their class. Juniors are classified as completing 70 hours or more at the time of induction. 
  • Seniors ranking in the top 20 percent of their class. Seniors are classified as being one year or less from graduation at the time of induction.
  • Graduate students who have completed 50 percent of their M.B.A. requirements and rank in the top 30 percent of their class.

Invitations are sent to students based on rank in class. Students must accept the invitation to be initiated. Invitations are only provided once during a student's academic career. 

Inaugural initiates to Sigma Chi Mu Tau at the University of Arkansas are:

Juniors: Brittany Boone, Rachel Braun, Cal Campbell, Trevor Darby, Blake Ham, Andrea Kathol, Maggie Mackey, Landri McGregor, Jonathan Schultz, Nathan Spears, Christine Tan, Linh Vu and Michelle Wingard.

Seniors: Layseen Chen, Cynthia Cooper, Jonathan Garcia, Daniel Gibson, Jonathan Quiel Madrid, Cody Nelson, Ryan Pinter, Mycah Sandridge and Rachel Stoehr. 

Co-presidents of the organization are chosen from the junior class. The two co-presidents are Jonathan Schultz and Christine Tan.
