ROGERS, Ark. – Professionals can learn about safety in the workplace in a Global Campus briefing offered Tuesday, April 26, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., either in person at 3300 Market St. in Rogers or online.

Participants can register online. The cost of the course is $59, and a 10 percent discount is available for University of Arkansas faculty, staff, students and Alumni Association members.

This program provides an in-depth look at industry practices and the compliance efforts of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), with an emphasis on OSHA’s Top 10 areas of focus for 2016. Attendees will learn how to enroll in OSHA’s information briefing and training programs, as well as the expectations of business owners to comply with existing standards and the penalties for non-compliance.

Rick Teague, principal of TransAmericas Human Resources LLC, will teach the course. Teague is a human resources generalist with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration. He has 35 years of human resources management experience and has worked with three of Fortune 100’s Most Admired Companies: McKesson, Nestle and Raytheon. He is also an adjunct professor in the U of A’s College of Engineering.

The Global Campus is recognized by the Society for Human Resource Management to offer three professional development credits toward the SHRM Certified Professional and Senior Certified Professional certifications. This program is pending approval for three general credit hours toward recertification for the Human Resources Certification Institute’s Professional in Human Resources, Senior Professional in Human Resources and Global Professional in Human Resources certifications.
