Arkansas State Police Director to Give OLLI Lecture
Col. Bill Bryant
Col. Bill Bryant, director of the Arkansas State Police, will give an inside look at the agency during a lecture Wednesday, April 20, for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Arkansas.
The lecture will take place from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Global Campus, 2 E. Center St. in Fayetteville. Cost is $14 for members of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute and $29 for non-members. For more information, visit the OLLI website, call 479-575-4545 or email olli@uark.edu.
Far beyond keeping highways safe, the Arkansas State Police engages daily in duties that protect everyone. Bryant will talk about the agency's criminal investigation division, special operations teams, crimes against children division and child abuse hotline, and programs such as Silver Alert.
Retired Col. Win Phillips, former director of the Arkansas State Police, will join Bryant.
Bryant has 40 years of experience in law enforcement as a criminal investigator and assistant special agent in charge of the Little Rock District Office for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. Twenty of his years with the DEA were spent working with the Arkansas State Police, local police and sheriff's departments across the state. He has bachelor's and master's degrees in police science and administration from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.
