Associate CIO for Academic Technologies and Shared Services Candidates to Present

IT Services announces on-campus public presentations of final candidates for the associate CIO for academic technologies and shared services during the week of April 25. Three finalists will present on "How do we take the progress we've made so far with the Achieve IT: Excellence in Technology initiative and grow a mature and vibrant IT community?" The campus community is encouraged to attend and provide feedback.

"This is an important position for the future of campus IT, and I am very pleased with the caliber of candidates this search has attracted," Chris McCoy, CIO and associate vice chancellor for information technology, said. "We expect this person to be a leader in collaborative IT project development and operations who will leverage established and emerging technologies to support the academic, research and outreach mission of the university."

The new associate CIO will be responsible for developing and communicating a shared service and user support vision for the university. Reporting directly to the CIO and serving on the CIO leadership team, the associate CIO will work with stakeholders, IT managers and IT directors in schools and departments across the university to support campuswide shared services.

Zach Gorman will present at 10 a.m. on April 25 in Reynolds Auditorium. Gorman is currently director of university IT at Georgia Regents University (soon to be Augusta University) in Augusta, Georgia. With over 15 years of information technology experience, he also served as an IT manager at the University of Iowa and a systems support specialist at Iowa State University. He holds a master's degree in organizational leadership from St. Ambrose University with an emphasis in leadership, strategic planning, conflict management, communication and human relationships as well as a bachelor's in management information systems from Iowa State University.

Paige Francis, a University of Arkansas alumna with a bachelor's in communication, will present at 10 a.m. on April 26 in Reynolds Auditorium. Francis is currently the CIO of Fairfield University in Connecticut. With over 15 years of information technology leadership in hospitality, tax software/finance and higher education, she also previously served as the CIO at Northwest Arkansas Community College, the manager of web systems for Thomas-Reuters and the web team developer/manager at Dave and Buster's Inc. She holds a master's in computer information systems from the University of Phoenix.

Michael Martin will present at 10 a.m. on April 29 in Reynolds Auditorium. Martin currently serves as the director of information technology at Carl Albert State College. With over 15 years of experience in information technology, he has also served as an adjunct instructor, provided help desk support and supported faculty as a new media specialist. Martin holds a master's in human resource administration from East Central University, a bachelor's in management information systems and ethics from Mid America Christian University, and an associate degree in business administration and information systems from Carl Albert State College.
