The University of Arkansas Department of Art is pleased to announce the 2016 Annual Awards and Scholarship Exhibition. Showcasing each area within the department, the exhibition will highlight the multidisciplinary talents of students studying fine art. Through a rigorous jurying process, faculty members from the Department of Art selected the works on display. The exhibition will be on display from May 6 to July 22 in the Fine Arts Center Gallery. The Department of Art will host a reception at 5:30 pm. Friday, May 6, at the Fine Arts Center Gallery.

The Annual Awards and Scholarship Exhibition provides an opportunity to showcase the stellar accomplishments of Department of Art students to the entire university community. This exhibition also allows students of all levels of study to gain professional experience displaying work, as well as explicate concepts into finished objects. Receiving this type of acknowledgment builds on vital emergence within the artistic community.

Students included in the exhibition: Ivy Cox, Jamie Espino, Alyssa Frazier, Elly Golterman, Wanbli Hamilton-Gamache, Kelly Lehr, Elise Raborg, Michael Ramirez, Spencer Reeves, Justin Seymore, Kim Tomlinson, Ashley Treece, Jesse Turner, and Samantha Yancey.

The Department of Art offers a wide assortment of undergraduate and graduate degrees. Students may choose a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Art History or in Studio Art, with emphasis in ceramics, drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and visual design.  This degree provides students flexibility and the ability to take courses outside the department. A Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) allows students to enter into a professional degree track, which focuses on conceptual and technical aspects of a specific medium.

This event is free and open to the public.
