FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas Global Campus and Inseitz Group will team up to offer an 11-week certificate program in fall 2016 to help women develop and strengthen skills important to professional and personal success.

The Women’s Personal Leadership Effectiveness Program for rising leaders is the only in-depth, uniquely women-focused, character-based professional development program in Northwest Arkansas, according to program developers and instructors, Becky Paneitz and Pat Bailey.

Paneitz and Bailey are both certified Personal Leadership Effectiveness coaches and trainers through Future Achievement International. Paneitz is President Emeritus of NorthWest Arkansas Community College and Bailey is the Provost and Vice Chancellor Emeritus for Academic and Student Affairs at Arkansas State University in Mountain Home.

Women in the Personal Leadership Effectiveness program’s will:

  • Learn about the 10 character-based principles that impact personal and professional success.
  • Hear professional women speak about the impact these principles have had on their personal and professional lives. In-person class sessions will also serve as networking sessions for participants.
  • Meet with assigned personal coaches to complete a personal and professional life plan.

Research conducted with Fortune 500 CEOs by the Stanford Research Institute International and the Carnegie Mellon Foundation found that 75 percent of long-term job success depends on soft skills and people skills, while only 25 percent depends on technical skills.

Participants should be employed for at least three years, be employed as a mid-level manager or supervisor for at least one year, show an openness to feedback and a willingness to learn, and be willing to commit to the time and rigor of the program.

Participants can register online. The cost is $2,999 for the 11-week program set for Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to noon from Sept. 14 through Nov. 30. Classes alternate between in-class meetings at the Global Campus in Rogers, 3300 Market St., and online independent study. No assignments or meetings are scheduled for the week of Thanksgiving, Nov. 21-25.

Paneitz has always had a passion for helping women succeed and she often shares stories from her own life – from being a single mother to her 10 years as president of NWACC – to inspire and encourage women through their own struggles. Establishing a character-based professional and personal development program for women has been her goal since retiring from NWACC in 2013.

"The curriculum and self-assessment tool provide the perfect foundation for the program,” she said. "Our program will empower women to make a real difference in all parts of their lives."

Bailey and Paneitz first became friends when they were two of only a small number of high-level female executives in Arkansas' higher education system. They stayed in touch after both chose to retire several years ago. Bailey first learned of the Inseitz Group's Women's Empowerment initiative in 2015, during the early planning stages, and she was immediately intrigued.

"I did my dissertation on this very subject," Bailey said, adding that her dissertation studied the issues women leaders encounter in the workplace.

"I am proud to be involved in a program dedicated entirely to the personal and professional development of women,” Bailey said. “Since completing my dissertation on women's leadership issue, I have been passionate about helping women meet their full potential."
